A ship of glass and sweat docked on the Tagus, part cathedral, part fever dream. By 3 a.m., you're halfway between transcendence and collapse, clutching a gin tonic like it's holy water while the DJ baptises the crowd in relentless light. Out on the terrace, Lisbon hums below, ancient and infinite. Inside, Lux doesn't care what time it is. It is time.
Arrive late, leave later. The real Lux begins when the night dissolves into dawn. Stand at the glass, let the Tagus mirror the bassline.
Lux is where Portugal's creative soul converges. The architecture, the river, the all-night programming: it is an institution that earns its myth every weekend.
Saturday nights. Lisbon clubs run late, the room is at its best between 03:00 and 07:00 on the river-facing terrace. Avoid August when half the city is on holiday and the programming pauses.
Thursday through Saturday, doors 23:30 to 07:00. Closed Sunday through Wednesday. Closed August for summer holidays. Members club and restaurant operate earlier evenings.
Metro Santa Apolonia, ten-minute walk east along the Tagus. From central Lisbon, taxi €8 or tram 28 east. The club sits on the river at Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, the entrance is unmarked, look for the queue.
