01 · IN THE ROOM

The experience.

Banff Centre sits on Tunnel Mountain in Banff National Park. The campus has been a residency programme since 1933. The Eric Harvie Theatre seats 959. The Rolston Recital Hall seats 250 and looks straight at Mount Rundle through a glass back wall. Composers walk between sessions along elk trails. The Banff Summer Arts Festival runs June through August, most events pay-what-you-can or free. The acoustic is the mountains' contribution.
