Rainbow Serpent has run every year since 1998 in bush venue at Lexton, 130 km west of Melbourne. Four days of psytrance, electronic, and transformational programming with significant art-installation, ceremonial, and workshop components. The Australian psytrance scene built itself here. The festival's main programming runs in the bush amphitheatre during the day and on lit stages through the night. Camp setup is structurally important; the festival is as much about the camping community as the stages. The dawn sets on day three are the photographed peak.
